"What's Next?" Campaign?
Each year, the AbilityOne program sponsors a Design Challenge established to encourage college students to develop assistive technologies that can empower people with disabilities to overcome barriers to employment. Our mission was to develop a Design Challenge campaign that would inspire department heads to build the competition into their curriculum and ensure that students submit their projects for consideration.
With all of the historical breakthroughs in assistive technologies, we developed the “What’s Next” campaign to help students grasp the life-changing power of these devices and inspire them to “think big”. While submissions aren’t due until April 2010, inquiries into the program are up significantly from previous years.
This campaign has been the recipient of multiple international awards. Awards include a 2009 Davey Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts, a 2010 International Summit Creative Award and a 2010 Communicator Award of Excellence.
